“I’m Sorry, What Did You Say?”

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

This week Cora’s communication class focused on ‘reality practice’. The students had to have conversation practice with loud music playing in the classroom, tell each other stories while standing in front of a construction area on Washington Street. And tell each other about an article from the Metro while standing four feet apart from each other.

Finally, they had to listen to recordings of themselves doing interviews. It was exhausting, but really fun! Students agreed it was a useful challenge. Hopefully, everyone will remember to SPEAK UP when using English :) So, what’s next - should we have a huge English-only rock and roll party at Cora’s house?

Hi from TEFL Town.

Friday, May 8th, 2009

My name is Aggie Goldsmith, and I am the teacher trainer and coordinator of our TEFL program. I am here to help you embark on this challenging, unpredictable, and rewarding career of teaching ESL.

It takes very little to be transformed from a “teacher wannabe” into a solid, confident, and well- informed teacher. You just need passion, enthusiasm, and a true desire to teach.

Teaching ESL means learning “I love You” in all language, seeing the world for free and gossiping with others in your own mother tongue. Before all the fun happens, however,  and the whole world opens its door for you,  you should visit our small town of TEFL first and get all the rules of ESL mafia!
